Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing a full range of patrol and security work at a City facility or related area. Exercises functional supervision. May exercise direct supervision over assigned staff.

Work Schedule- Shiftwork
- Days and hours will vary based on department needs
- Supervises, briefs, and dispatches contract security as required.
- Trains and instructs security staff as needed.
- Monitors closed circuit T.V. and fire alarm systems.
- Investigates incidents and activities.
- Patrols assigned areas to eliminate or report fire hazards, deter thefts, vandals, or violence and communicates through the use of a two-way radio.
- Monitors and maintains station at entry/exit point to City activities by observing, walking, reaching, twisting, and kneeling.
- Conducts operating cash count to ensure that all monies are accounted for.
- Maintains inventory of equipment using office equipment.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Three (3) years' experience in a security related job.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Security Guard Certification highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications- Supervisory experience in a security, venue, event, sensitive environment setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience with surveillance and dispatching

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Working conditions are in a large building complex or stadium environment with occasional exposure to hostile people and emergency situations.
