Description
Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Software Developer / Engineer to join a talented team within the RF Systems Portfolio. Candidates in this role will be a part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting advanced radar systems research and development in a high-fidelity modeling and simulation environment. Candidates will be expected to design, develop, optimize, test, deploy, and maintain software as a part of small teams leveraging Agile methods in a DevOps environment. Areas of support will include radar back-end software development, digital signal processing, distributed micro-service / open architecture development, high-fidelity modeling and simulation, and algorithm prototyping.
Primary Responsibilities
Include contributing to and mentoring software development teams during the software development process to support a variety of customers. The candidate will support software design, integration, testing, and analysis activities. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record working within teams and collaborating across organizations
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
12 plus years of professional software development experience or 10 plus years with a Master’s degree.
Experience in analyzing and developing requirements, designing and maintaining software products, and implementing software designs.
Experience in software development, data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit test. Candidate must have experience with multiple languages that include C or C++, C# or Java, and Python or other similar scripting language.
Experience mentoring teammates and providing guidance to accomplish tasks and projects.
Experience with software best practices such as peer reviews, automated testing, and document generation.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
Prior experience with End-to-End Defense Systems
Prior experience with large scale simulations, high performance computing, and flight test analysis
Prior experience with Radar Systems

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
