Job Description
The TV Editor is responsible for crafting high-quality video content by editing and assembling recorded footage for broadcast. This role requires a keen eye for detail, storytelling skills, and an ability to enhance visuals and sound to engage viewers. The TV Editor collaborates closely with producers, directors, and other production team members to ensure the final content aligns with creative vision and broadcasting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Video Editing and Assembly:
- Edit video footage to create compelling, engaging narratives that meet production goals. Produce sales spots, sales segments, presentations, promos, topicals, show segments, and any other creative projects that may occur.
- Assemble raw footage, incorporate graphics, sound, and special effects, and adjust scenes for timing and continuity.
- Audio and Visual Enhancement:
- Enhance audio and visual components using professional editing software, ensuring high broadcast quality.
- Correct color, add sound effects, and enhance audio clarity and consistency.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with directors, producers, and other team members to understand creative direction and desired outcomes.
- Participate in production meetings to discuss editing requirements, schedules, and revisions.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Operate and maintain editing software and tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Manage digital assets, organize file structures, and ensure backups for project continuity.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in editing, with a focus on promotion, marketing, or similar roles.
- Experience with basic field camera operation (DV, DSLR), Premier, iNews, Dalet, Stream Yard, After Effects and content management systems.
- Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement between the Company and the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians Union (NABET). Successful candidate will be required to join the NABET Union if not already a member and remain a member in good standing of that union.

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
