The opportunity
We are seeking talented Training Device Technician to support the P-8A Poseidon - Maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and response aircraft. Training Device Technicians provide technical support to aircrew and maintenance training devices within a world class training facility at RAAF Edinburgh, Adelaide. Additionally, this role may provide opportunity for limited duration international employment in support of training system installation activities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operation readiness, post-operation maintenance activities to synthetic training devices;
- Perform maintenance, repair, test, installation, configuration, upgrade and modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software in accordance with approved maintenance documentation;
- Liaise with operational crews, Training Device Maintenance Manager and other P8SP internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate reporting of training device readiness;
- Liaise with applicable external agencies, including OEMs and Sub-Contractors;
- Ensure personnel and product safety, per BDA's Environment, Health & Safety, and enterprise Safety Management Systems;
- Interpret and apply Global Trade Controls (GTC) principles, and work with various stakeholders to ensure compliance.
Experience/Qualifications
- Experience in maintaining simulation devices
- A minimum AQF Level-3 qualification in either: Avionics, Mechatronics, Electronics and Communications, or equivalent trade qualification (essential)
- Experience maintaining P-8A Poseidon electrical, instrument, navigation, communication and mission systems (desirable)
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements
- IT/System Administration skills (highly desirable)
- Minimum NV1 Security Clearance, or ability to obtain (essential)
