This is a contingent position based upon contract award
What You'll Do
In the role of Carpenter, your duties will include:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.
Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.
Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.
Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.
Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.
Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking.

Qualifications:
Must be a US or Australian citizen
Must Possess an active US Top Secret/SCI with Poly or AUS PV Security Clearance.
5+ years’ experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
