KBR is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to manage the Business Development (BD) Team for the Science & Space (S&S) BD organization. The Senior Director of BD will report to the Vice President of Business Development (BD) for S&S and manage the BD team focused on S&S federal government pursuits.
Responsibilities include developing and managing a team of senior business development executives and business development analysts. The activity is focused on front end customer engagement, pipeline development, and market shaping activity with pursuits in pre-capture stage. The Senior Director of BD will be responsible for managing the BD team, which is a subset of the overall S&S BD organization. The Senior Director of BD will also be individually responsible for market shaping and customer engaging activities directly in a player/coach model. Emphasis is on developing and winning new business through a thorough understanding of the focused markets, target agencies, opportunities, customers, competition, to bring new winnable programs into the KBR S&S pipeline. The Senior Director of BD will manage roughly 5-8 direct reports.
Responsibilities also include:
Overseeing all front-end BD efforts up through capture with a focus on mentoring and leading the team of BD executives. This includes ensuring individual BD team members have the requite skills and abilities to operate across the business development cycle. The desired result is substantial new business growth for the Science & Space team.
Qualifications
- Growth minded individual with a minimum 15 years’ experience with demonstrated success in managing federal government business development teams that consist of 5 or more people that have pursued individual Single Award contracts valued greater than $300M.
- Proven ability to create and execute strategies to enter new markets and win new programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, or a technical degree
- Demonstrated successes reflecting the ability to grow the business with new business wins
- Strong skill in business writing and communication – both technical and non-technical
- Familiarity and experience managing the pipeline and utilizing tools such as Salesforce.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders to position and win new business.
- Experience with competitive analysis
- Demonstrated ability and interpersonal skills to work with Executives and lead teams
- Experience winning large scale programs over $300M in the federal government
- Experience developing account plans for new business opportunities, which have led to wins in new business markets.
- Proven individual BD and/or Capture experience with demonstrated wins.
Basic Compensation:
$260,800 - $391,200
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
