Leidos’ Health and Civil Sector is seeking a dynamic, mission-centric hands-on User Experience (UX)/ User Interface (UI) Designer to support a federal agency’s large, mission-critical enterprise environment.
The UI/UX Designer will be part of an agile delivery team focused on delivering new customer-facing web-based applications with an emphasis on providing high value features to our customers. You will assist in the design, implementation, and testing of applications and web pages, as a core support member for the team working closely with the Product Owner and high performing development team to help manage the product. The selected individual will be part of a software development team utilizing an agile development methodology. The ideal candidate is someone with strong analysis skills, HCD and UI/UX knowledge combined with the ability to clearly communicate UI/UX concepts and the current Information Architecture. A successful candidate will have the appropriate experience and business understanding to prioritize initiatives and work with both management and our clients. The successful candidate should be collaborative, an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and program management skills to deliver the best solutions in support of the customer’s mission. The candidate must possess strong communications skills and the demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Candidate MUST:
be US Citizen or US Person with the ability to obtain a Public Trust level 5 Clearance
Remote work - must be located in the United States for the current three consecutive years.
Ability to work Eastern time zone hours.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive the full lifecycle of responsive design: content-first design, logic flows, storyboards, personas, wireframes, low fidelity mock-ups, sitemaps, information architecture and UI specifications, to provide end-to-end dynamic design flows.
- Develop User Experience concepts and creating of personas, wireframes, and visual design services
- Conduct analysis of 4-5 existing screens and create consolidated wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, and screen flows (e.g., using tools such as Figma, Mural, Balsamiq).
- Collaborate with SMEs to define use cases and personas
- Analyze usage metrics and feedback for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX enhancement
- Collaborate with other user experience designers to develop and manage requirements
- Perform functional testing of the user interface and identify issues found during the software development/integration process
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on test progress during daily scrum meetings
- Create, execute, and maintain technical documentation
- Support program operational needs as required
Basic Qualifications
- Active Public Trust Clearance or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Requires BS degree and 6+ years of experience creating use cases/personas, wireframes, and/or visual design
- Ability to work independently leading a task or as part of a team.
- Experience with user experience products (Confluence, Jira, Figma)
- Heavy design experience
- Deep expertise and knowledge of user experience concepts
- Experience creating intuitive user interfaces
- Experience with modern user experience concepts
- Ability to generate, follow, and update technical requirements and wireframes and evaluate results
- Ability to work successfully in a team, independently, and take initiative on tasks
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written formats.
- Demonstrated knowledge of user experience concepts
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Understanding of agile processes
- Mentor and coach other technical staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible at juggling competing priorities. Must be resourceful and independent problem solvers.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Solid experience with information visualization
- Experience in website design
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
- Experience with User Interface Design and 508 requirements

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
