Position Overview
As a Piping/Mechanical Field Engineer with Kiewit, you will be working with a vibrant and diverse team to estimate, schedule and construct complex Mechanical work on some of the largest most exciting construction projects in North America. You will support construction activities as assigned by the supervisor, reviewing project proposals, engineering specifications and drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare construction cost estimates and attend various construction meetings. In this position, you will also learn how to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors. Learning how to prepare work plans, assuring quality control, managing and tracking costs and materials, scheduling craft and equipment, administering safety programs and maintaining exceptional owner relations all fall within the job duties as well.

Headquartered in The Woodlands, TX, TIC Southern builds major oil, gas and chemical (OGC) projects in diversified markets throughout the Gulf Coast and other open shop OGC strategic locations. Location
This position will be based at our Project site in the greater Orange/Beaumont area. Responsibilities
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work.
- Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
- Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s).
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training.
- Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
- Consult with craft labor to overcome construction impediments and track completed work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Piping/Mechanical Technologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Willingness to learn or have already an ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with CAD and Microsoft Office software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
- The ability to relocate to construction projects sites as required.
