Factory ZERO is currently seeking a motivated and accomplished General Assembly Business Manager who will manage daily production operations inside Factory ZERO.
The Role:
The Quality Torque and Compliance Lead will be assigned to the Quality Assurance Team and be the point of contact for all Quality Torque and compliance related activities in Launch and steady state production. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedure outlined in the Global Quality Requirements, Process Control Plans along with Tool & Equipment Bulletins compliance. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
What You’ll Do:
This role requires close coordination with the manufacturing leadership team and requires the individual to have a deep understanding of the build process throughout all shops as well the Global Quality Management System. The selected candidate must be capable of working with little direction, working well with all personnel on shop floor, and problem resolution. This is a people leader position, responsible for supervising a team of torque monitors. Success in this role will have this individual working closely with Plant Torque Coordinator, plant leadership, Global Manufacturing Engineering, Program Engineering, Quality Engineering and Fastening Process SMEs.

- Responsible to manage a 3rd party small tool team ensuring all T&E Bulletins and PCP’s are maintained and met
- Support the yearly Torque Audit
- Participates in functional area plant meetings and related functions to represent GA and to assist in improving the plant's performance goals
- Work with General Assembly Production, Maintenance and Engineering to problem solve customer issues and developing short term corrective actions as well as long term irreversible solutions
- Manage process-related projects including installation of new or replacement equipment, continuous improvement initiatives, and periodic repair and refurbishment
- Provides technical support and direction to support personnel within the organization
- Investigates system and equipment problems and provides technical input in problem resolution
- Works with Central office teams to promote common systems and best practices
- Works with Torque Coordinator and plant leadership to develop cost estimates, investment forecasts, business cases, appropriation requests, and plans for process / torque related project activity
- Assists in the development of a project support plan between plant, GMNA, and contractor resources.
- Assures common controls architecture for all new and revised tooling and equipment
- Utilizes statistical methods for continuous improvement on plant systems
- Enforces safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping
- Maintains good working relationships with peers, hourly employees, union, management, supplier community and interfaces with necessary support functions outside of the assembly plant
- Mechanical/Electrical aptitude with the ability to grasp complex systems easily
- Develops and monitors planning timetables and project schedules
- Maintain compliance with all Process Control Plans and Tool and Equipment bulletins relevant to all General Assembly Equipment and Processes
- Maintain Error Proofing List and ensure all new or modified error proofing has passed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) requirements
- Supervising UAW Employees
