This role will be similar to the Specialist, Advisor Services role. Instead of supporting annuity sales, the focus is Nationwide Advisory Variable Universal Life (NAVUL).

As a Specialist, you'll serve as the experienced agent of record for the referral process in the registered investment advisor (RIA) channel. You'll be a key component to the sales process, reviewing applications from RIA sales for our NAVUL product. We will count on your experience and expertise to train, mentor and guide other team members. Additionally, you will be accountable for quality control of the team and serve as the designated representative of choice for the client directed sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as agent/rep of record for all NAVUL business submitted from IARs/BGAs and client direct sales.
Partner with business partners at NSLLC for suitability approval and life new business teams for new policy set-up.
Meets and maintains product training and appointment requirements for the NAVUL/LTC rider.
Serves as a designated representative of choice for national RIA firms and large premium cases, including client-directed sales.
Serves as a primary point of contact for clients, RIA sales team and IARs (inside and out the territory).
Collects and analyzes client information and consults with clients to provide suitable strategies.
Formally reviews client objectives, risk tolerance and holdings and recommends products in the client's best interest.
Completes applications, suitability and maintains documentation.
Assists the NAVUL sales team with various requests including portfolio/fund tax analysis, illustrations from Life Illustrator, fund mapping and cost comparisons.
Ensures all regulatory requirements under applicable laws are met, including firm compliance and supervisory policies of the broker-dealer and Nationwide Securities, LLC.
Performs annual review of policies with client/IAR.
Reviews processes and make improvements.
Reviews applications and case details with new hires to ensure quality control.
Facilitates training assistance with new hires.
May assume supervisory duties in absence of the supervisor.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director, Direct Sales.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in insurance, sales, business, marketing, or related fields preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Successful completion of onsite training class, FINRA Series 6, Series 63, and state life license is required. CFP/CFA certifications encouraged.
Experience: Typically, three to five years of relevant industry experience. Prior sales/direct to consumer/retail financial services preferred.
This will be a hybrid role based in Columbus starting in January 2025.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of insurance products, including Nationwide Advisory Solutions (NAS). Proficient understanding of the sales process. Demonstrated understanding of the state and local laws vital to understanding legal implications of product sales. Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities. Proven independent judgment, decision-making, time management and organization skills. Exhibits excellent communication skills. Possess strong relationship building skills along with the ability to effectively coach and train others. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct management.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
