The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.
We have an immediate need for a general office support specialist to provide support to DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customers located in Washington, DC. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for various secretarial and administrative functions for CBP customer Front Office to assist with the effective running of office functions. Assist with reception responsibilities, answering phones, greeting visitors, and following relevant security, sign-in, and escort procedures. Maintain meeting room schedules, assist with meeting set-up/breakdown (which may include assistance with food/beverage set-up) as well as clean up. Perform a wide variety of general clerical work, including production, photocopying, filing, scanning, and mailings from inception to completion. Maintain inventory of office supplies and keep common office areas clean and stocked with supplies-this includes copy/supply/mail areas, pantries, conference rooms, meeting rooms, huddle rooms, and all other ancillary meeting spaces. Coordinate onboarding for new staff with government and contractor team, provide relevant checklists and ordering of government furnished equipment to include but not limited to government issued cellphones, laptops, submitting building access, and suite requests. Coordinate close-out checklists for departing staff to include managing or supporting the employee for the return of government equipment and ensuring badge access is deactivated. Assist with updating office floor plans, organizational charts, and call rosters.

- Ability to obtain and retain a CBP Background Investigation
- High School degree with 14+ years of experience
- Background in administrative or office management support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Strong organization and communications skills

Salary transparency pay range for the Washington DC area: $26.44/Hr.- $30.05/Hr.
