Boeing Singapore is seeking a Senior Privacy and Data Protection Specialist to be part of our Global Privacy Office, to be based in Singapore. This position will provide support and guidance to various business segments and functions, with a geographic focus on Asia Pacific, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitors privacy regulations, technology trends, business process changes, and developments in the privacy field and provide subject-matter expertise for data privacy and protections requirements and advise on their impact on Boeing’s business.
Administer privacy program assessments, update regional privacy risk registers, and support prioritized corrective actions in collaboration with privacy champions.
Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving emerging privacy laws, analysis, and compliance with stakeholders across the business; and develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings.
Regularly update regional and global leadership on the status and effectiveness of the global privacy program, key risks, and mitigation activities.
Identify priorities and work under deadlines in support of key business initiatives.
Confidently drive decisions balancing cost and benefits after developing all potential options.
Administer Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) with the Privacy-by-Design Department.
Support incident response strategy and collaborate with partners and regional counsel with respect to appropriate planning and response activities; and oversee the development and management of local privacy data policies.
Update and negotiate contractual terms relating to data privacy and protection; and drive continuous improvements in furtherance of privacy program maturity based on KPIs, audits, and surveys.
Embrace both open-ended challenges and strictly defined tasks, while being team-oriented with a proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders to achieve desired goals.
Leads development of regional privacy compliance measures and consults and reports on regional privacy activities to ensure adherence with policies and procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
7+ years of experience working with privacy or data protection laws and regulations.
7+ years of experience implementing privacy frameworks, privacy principles and compliance requirements.
3+ years of experience as a proven leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills
3+ years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Privacy certification, such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, etc.
Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
Deep experience in embedding new regulations within business operations.
Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations in APAC, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.
Program and business-minded, with a focus on business enablement; and experienced in translating complex policies and laws into practical business controls.
In-depth experience presenting to company leaders, gained preferably with an international company, and an ability to inspire and coach diverse teams and privacy champions.
