Job Description

We are seeking a Manager of Live Action on the LinkedIn Learning Recording Operations Team. The Manager of Live Action is responsible for leading a team of Directors and Video Production Technicians, developing team skills, and ensuring the quality of coursework for their team. This position is Hybrid, and will be based in the Carpinteria, California office.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Live Action Directors and/or Video Production Technicians.
- Ensure the overall quality and effectiveness of coursework.
- Drive 1:1s and team meetings.
- Review team content and provide individuals with ongoing open, honest, and constructive feedback to continually improve courses, the production process, and grow their skills.
- Perform and oversee all functions of staff management of Live Action team members, such as hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, developing, and assessing performance.
- Drive initiatives to improve workflows and resolve issues across the Content organization.
- Work closely with other Recording Operations managers to unify and enhance processes and workflows.
- Act as a logistical and creative connection between relevant Managers of Content, producer teams, post production teams, and Content Managers.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across other Content teams
- Assign courses to team members based on production goals and business needs.
- Schedule resources of employees, stages, and gear to align with team capacity.
- Coordinate with facilities team to ensure effective Studio Operations.
- Manage Budget tracking and reporting against annual approved budgets.
- Recommend and report against team capacity forecasts. Ensure that team capacity is tracked and that workloads meet business needs while supporting a healthy work-life balance for team members.
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to share open, honest, and constructive feedback
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in an audio/video production environment
- 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a product development cycle, including driving business initiatives
- 3+ years of people management experience, including assessing performance, giving feedback, and delivering performance reviews to direct reports OR 2+ years management experience and 1+ years of LinkedIn Learning Content experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in producing educational content
- Experience in onboarding, training, coaching, and leading team meetings in an organization
- Excellent software skills and experience with both Mac and Windows
- Excellent communication, writing, editing, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines while organizing and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment of ambiguity and change.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $114,000 to $174,000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
