Entry-Level Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer

Work Arrangement :
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Tonawanda Propulsion facility on a full-time basis.
For the following position, work is performed in a manufacturing plant where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as some level of independent judgment.
Our Manufacturing Mechanical Engineers are responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process. In this role, you will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes. You may also be responsible for:
- Propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
- Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
- Provide technical support for specific plant operations
- Provide direction to engineering support group and vendors
- Evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
- Handle engineering projects
Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:
- Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
- Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
- Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
- Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold).
- Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch and reach to perform work.
- Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipment.
