The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for Major Incident Response (MIR) Deputy Lead in to support the Air Force National Capital Region IT Services program.
The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR, missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas required are IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E); and National Military Command Center (NMCC). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.

Summary: The Major Incident Response (MIR) deputy lead is part of a team responsible for quickly detecting and resolving critical IT disruptions and to restore normal operations as rapidly as possible by coordinating necessary resources and expertise across different teams within the Air Force District of Washington to. As a member of the 24/7 team, this position’s core hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday – Friday. This position is required to fill other shifts as mission dictates to include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leads the Major Incident Response (MIR) team in the absence of the lead
Identify major IT incidents based on reporting from AFNCR work centers, both internal and external to the program.
Coordinate with responsible parties (internal or external) to diagnose, fix, and communicate the IT problem/status/resolution.
Provide strategic communications to Sr. Leaders and stakeholders to include initial notification, updates for the duration of the incident, and provide a resolution.
Provide IT incident coordination, track investigation and provide resolution activities across participating teams.
Lead a daily operations briefing to inform stakeholders of the AFNCR’s current operations posture.
Use multiple tools to gather metrics for AFNCR’s critical infrastructure and generates reports to ensure it meets service level agreements.
Provide weekly briefings on major incidents within the AFNCR.
Work with problem management staff to identify corrective actions to the root cause and track them to closure.
Establish troubleshooting conference calls with technicians to document troubleshooting steps.
Able to think swiftly while coordinating an incident from initial report to the conclusion of the major incident.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors degree and 4+ years of applicable experience or a Masters degree with 2+ years of applicable experience, additional years of applicable experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Requires an active DoD Secret clearance.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications. (PP, Excel)
A solid understanding of Network equipment, their capabilities, and architecture.
2 years of work experience within a DoD environment.
Experience working on an IT operations floor
Strong time-management and prioritization skills
Strong writing and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and operate under pressure.
Excellent briefing and oral communication skills.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
