Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.
Job Summary
You will manage the installation and be responsible for the operations of Motor Transport field maintenance shops, field recovery, and the control and operation of recovery and contact maintenance teams. Through subordinate leadership, you will coordinate the activities of workers engaged in servicing, storing, and repairing Motor Transport equipment and workers engaged in servicing and repairing all Motor Transport equipment to maintain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel, and supporting tools and special test equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure all completed work complies with specifications and time schedules.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
- Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements and make recommendations to management to improve overall efficiency.
- Assist in the approval of requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within the limits of the department budget.
- Perform administrative management tasks and prepare related management reports.
- Assist in the formulation of administrative and operations policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
- Provide technical guidance/assistance and make decisions where written guidelines are not available.
- Plan and manage human resource activities within the assigned area of responsibility, and within an organized labor-union environment.
- Supervise direct reports (lead mechanics).
- Establish performance objectives/goals.
- Supervise the requisitioning, receipt, and allocation of tools, parts, and materials required for a Motor Transport shop.
- Establish and supervise production line and established process procedures.
- Recommend changes to procedures as appropriate.
- Comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
- Maintain MPF ISO-9002 policies and procedures and ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant law, rules and regulations.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline. A High School Diploma or equivalent and a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must have 10 years of directly related work experience including four years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
- Must have completed the motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
- Requires the ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
- The ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment is required.
- Must have the ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt Trained.
- Knowledge and experience with Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
- Working knowledge of DOD publications and associated resources.
- Proficiency in commercial word processing, databases, spreadsheets and statistical software applications.
