The Opportunity -
In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
We are seeking a Senior System Safety Engineerwho will join the AH-64 Apache team.to support the most modern and capable configuration of the AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter.
The role is to be based in Enoggera, Brisbane with the Army customer in an integrated Attack Helicopter System Program Office (AHSPO).
As a Senior System Safety Engineer within BDA you will:
- Be an integral part of the Apache capability.
- Lead & Support the management and assurance of the Apache system safety program.
- Maintains and analyses records and provides reports on Material Safety compliance performance.
- Assess and document risk
- Verify, validate and document risk reduction measures.
- Support, as necessary, interfaces with the US Army System Safety Program.
- Deliver system safety training when required across the Apache enterprise.
- Required AASB Engineering Authority (qualification and competency): Design Engineer.
To be considered for the role you will have:
- [Essential] Demonstrated relevant Aerospace Engineering degree, 7 years+ relevant experience in similar role.
- [Essential] 3 years+ relevant experience in similar role.
- (Desirable) DASA Aviation System Safety Level 2 or 3 qualification.
- (Desirable) prior Defence service/Defence aerospace experience.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
NOTE: This role is due to commence in February 2025.
