Description
The EW Division of Leidos is looking for a Project Engineer to join our cross-functional engineering team using innovative technology to develop truly novel solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD). This is a great opportunity for a project engineer with a background in product development, manufacturing, and a passion for engineering to; 1) plan, 2) conduct and manage engineering research, and 3) manage design, development, and manufacturing projects involving antenna and transceiver communications systems in a diverse and collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Applying design and application knowledge of complex communications systems (antennas, transceivers, networks, etc).
- Actively engaged in engineering research, design, development, and sustaining projects.
- Responsibility for project schedule, budget, and drives cross-functional technical team to achieve technical objectives.
- Lead a team through complete product lifecycle phases including requirements, concept development, design reviews, validation and verification, and release to production using established formal IEEE systems engineering process.
- Responsible managing relationships between customers, technical staff, and supply chain.
- Have a vision for innovation on existing products and propose cutting-edge technological opportunities for the advancement of communications systems (i.e. digital beamforming).
Basic Qualifications
- Must have broad understanding of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience. This experience must include knowledge of pick-n-place, conformal coating, environmental test, acceptance test, module/box/systems build operations.
- Strong planning skills including defining requirements, time estimating, communicating progress to stakeholders at each phase of project, documentation, and testing.
- Broad Engineering background sufficient to analyze design data related to electrical, software, mechanical, and physical science disciplines. Position requires working with subject matter experts to make design trade-offs with respect to cost and performance.
- Proven experience with managing major suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, team leadership, etc.
- Responsible for leading proposal engineering efforts to include reviewing customer Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications; creation of compliance matrices; defining engineering baselines; estimating labor and materials, and generating basis of estimates (BOEs).
- Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations and proven record of success developing opportunities within the DoD community.
- US Citizenship required. Must have an active Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain
Preferred Qualifications
- . BA/BS in Engineering or equivalent experience. (Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 4-8 Years of project and/or program management experience.
- Experience with Project Management, Project Engineering, and/or Systems Engineering. Project Management Professional (PMPTM) Certification is a plus.
- Earned Value Management Experience.
- Experience communicating with multi-disciplined engineering teams.
- Experience working with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
