Overview
ABM is hiring an Instructional Designer to support our Aviation Industry Group in implementing top-quality in-person and virtual training programs in support of ABM’s initiatives. In this highly visible and collaborative position, the incumbent will partner closely with the Aviation team and Corporate VPs to understand current and future business initiatives, so that the training approach supports their goals. The incumbent will take ownership of Aviation training components including Instructional System Design, Project Management, and training strategy. In addition to owning overall training strategy and learning curriculums.
This is a Hybrid Work Arrangement (in-office Tue/Wed/Thu) ideally located in our Dallas office located at 2020 Westridge Drive, Irving, TX 75038.
Essential Functions
- Create and maintain Aviation training programs for team members with a focus of onboarding, standard operating procedures and compliance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather training requirements and act as a Learning SME and consultant.
- Identify and acquire learning technology (hardware and software) required for producing high quality eLearning in-house.
- Ensure quality, consistency and branding for all internally and externally produced training artifacts.
- Assist in the selection and relationship maintenance of trusted external training partners (training consultants and eLearning vendors) to deliver best-in-class and engaging instructional design, hands-on facilitation, and hybrid learning.
- Develop and update learning content in PowerPoint, Articulate, Camtasia and other instructional software.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
- Up to 25% travel.
Scope Factors (i.e. Revenue Scope, Assets Scope, Budget Scope, Profit/Loss Scope, Supervisory Scope)
- Corporate function supporting Aviation.
- Works with a variety of SMEs to assess learning technology and technical requirements for training and make recommendations as needed.
Qualifications – Education & Experience
- 5+ years as an Instructional Designer with a successful track record in the design and delivery of eLearning, quick reference cards/guides, video creation and editing, and facilitation/participant guides.
- Intimate knowledge of Instructional Design and Adult Learning methodologies.
- Proven track record of working successfully in fast-paced environments that require superior collaboration skills and on-time execution.

- Ability to learn systems and processes quickly; a problem solver who thinks outside the box to find solutions with a track record of successful results delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships and working collaboratively across multi-functional teams.
- Ability to work successfully with both on-site and remote teams.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple competing deliverables is required.
- Possesses a degree of emotional intelligence and can be flexible to adapt easily in a changing environment.
- Advanced graphic design skills.
- Must be able to pass SIDA/TSA background check.
