Day in the Life:
As an Engineer II/III on the Mechanical Integrity team, you will be a part of a team that fields diverse challenges daily in asset management and maintenance. This position will give you the opportunity to work within several company regulatory subject areas while applying them to enterprise compliance measures and company operating requirements and Standards. You will also coordinate access and updates to the enterprise inspection data management system, which houses critical inspection and risk-based modeling data, along with infrastructure of permanent critical process safety information and inspection files. .
In this role you will collaborate with team members as well as peers in engineering and technical services functions across the enterprise to improve processes and carry out enterprise initiatives. You will assist in carrying out highly technical critical assessments and special projects and with implementing and managing company mechanical integrity infrastructure for the enterprise and collaborate with company leaders, technical programs and operations to meet regulatory compliance, and ensure safe operational practices. This job will challenge you and bring something new every day!
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Performs a wide spectrum of assignments, requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgement while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Works with an increased level of independence but requires supervision on mid-sized projects/technical assignments supporting operations
- Develops an understanding of industry and operational requirements
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety requirements, produces results and meets goals
- Applies knowledge of Company processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by organization and governing agencies
- Prepares and delivers presentations to individuals and groups
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
- Required:Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Other Requirements:
- Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and deems safety an utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Preferred: FE Certification
Additional Responsibilities:
- Administers enterprise and site-specific WIMS standards and operating requirements for mechanical integrity-related procedures; coordinates compliance procedures for process safety management, DOT, local and state regulatory standards
- Leads content management of mechanical integrity procedures for focus and working teams
- Provides support for inspection data management system database (IDMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); works with software vendors and enterprise IT to ensure database integrity and compliance retention is maintained
- Supports suitability for service for corrosion analysis of inspection data per API, and ASME processes
- Assists with case study asset investigations and provides input for process improvement
Additional Requirements:
- Solid understanding of OSHA 1910.119 (J), CFR parts 192 Natural Gas and 195 Liquid Pipeline Regulations, and NBIC
- Knowledge working with ASME Section VIII Div-1 & 2, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 piping codes; as well as API-510, 570, 576, 653
- Preferred: Experience working with ASME PCC-2, API-579, API-580/581 and API-571
- Preferred: Experience working with environmental regulations applicable to atmospheric storage tanks (API and STI)
