Position Overview
Kiewit Data Services (KDS) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Engineer to join our innovative team. You will be responsible for designing and developing the front-end of our web applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. This role requires a blend of advanced front-end development skills and on the job learned expertise in the latest trends in large language models (LLMs) and machine learning operations (MLOps).

Location
This position is based in our Omaha, NE office, where our Senior Front-End Engineer will play a crucial role as the front-facing leader. We believe that being on-site fosters better collaboration and leadership, which is essential for this role. Therefore, remote work options are not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Developed and maintained responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using modern technologies such as React, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ES6+
- Experience with Azure platform, Azure functions, and Azure SQL
- Designed and implemented reusable component libraries, reducing development time
- Collaboration with Data Science or server-side developers is a plus
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar technology degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience in developing the user interface and user experience of web applications for North America projects / companies.
- Strong track record of successfully executing complex projects and/or projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Minimum of 4 years of python experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience collaborating with senior managers to understand drivers of success and departmental goals
- Manage and supervised a team of at least one developer or software engineer #LI-MD1
