Overview
In this role, you will leverage the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and utilize Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) workflows, while working with design and construction personnel in a fast-paced design-build environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Running clash detection analysis on design and construction models
- Coordinating meetings with AE and Construction teams
- Assisting with development and maintenance of Virtual Construction group standards for Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Point Layout, Synchro, and other software platforms in use
- Developing model-based quantity takeoff sheets and color-coded constructability review documents
- Producing layout and coordination drawings and data for field personnel
- Developing 3D models from 2D information to support design and construction coordination
- Developing renderings and 4D animations for marketing and business development proposal efforts
- Developing 4D construction sequence animations linked to detailed project schedules
- Training design and construction personnel on BIM/VDC processes and software
- Leading and supporting innovation initiatives related to BIM/VDC, for example, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), 3D Printing, etc.
- Performing quality checks on design and construction models, as well as review work of Level I and Level II Virtual Construction personnel
- Assisting with advanced customization of model-based quantity data extraction, clash detection automated reporting, and field layout coordinate automation to maximize group workflow efficiency
- Attending project BIM Kickoff meetings and meet regularly with design standard committees
- Traveling as needed for jobsite meetings and tasks when required
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, Autodesk Point Layout, Synchro, AutoCAD Civil3D, 3D Studio Max, Unity, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or similar
- Autodesk Revit Professional Certification is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods as well as construction terminology
- Strong understanding of field installations, particularly Structural and MEP systems
- Understanding of project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction documentation phases) and project management
- Understanding of different needs of the delivery team (architects, engineers, estimators, project managers, and field staff)
- Good communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities
- Ability to organize and manage complex implementation tasks, establish and meet schedules, and maintain focus on goals
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelors’ Degree in AEC Technology (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in AEC industry related to Building Information Modeling (BIM) / Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
