POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Instructional Design Intern for the Apprentice Program, you will gain experience in the instructional design process for training and the development of learning materials. Throughout your internship, you will assist the team by creating and updating training and development courses that will engage the apprenticeship participants from start to finish. You will also research and recommend new and innovative learning solutions that will utilize state of the art technologies to enhance the existing curriculum as well as the learning of the apprentices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and develop engaging content to industry's standards using appropriate adult learning methodology.
- Collaborate with trainers on improvements to blended learning and recommend new and innovative ways of presenting content.
- Develop content utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office suite
- Design and develop new knowledge and performance-based assessments.
- Explore, evaluate, and recommend new technologies.
- Maintain and update training materials, archives, and technologies.
- Collaborate and communicate with subject matter experts in visual, oral, and written form.
- Contribute towards training related projects
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
- Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in training and development, human resources, education, instructional design, business administration, or I/O psychology.
- Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a sound understanding of the ADDIE instructional design model
- Think creatively and bring learning content to life to engage user
- Be prepared to work in a busy deadline orientated environment
- Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
The hourly range is $17.50 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
Summer 2025 internship program will run from May 19th - August 8, 2025.
