Description:Operates high and low pressure steam boilers and performs such duties as transferring fueling source from oil to gas and gas to oil; regulating temperatures, fans, and fuel feeds; checking and servicing automatic equipment, pumps, injectors, and accessories; operates electronic and computer controls; monitoring gauges and maintaining water, atomizing steam and fuel levels and pressures; and otherwise maintaining equipment balance. Operates water softening systems, industrial compressed air drying equipment and cooling towers, maintaining proper chemical balance.
Maintains a complete awareness of all emergency procedures and makes expeditious decisions in accordance with written procedures and guidelines as required.
Performs repair operations such as replacing worn or broken parts, and installing, fitting, cleaning, tightening and spreading boiler tubes. Repairs and maintains steam, water, and fuel fixtures, such as main header valves, other valves, traps and strainers. Makes functional check of boilers only after major repair operations. Operates and maintains air compressors, air receivers control systems and equipment. Performs some repairs and/or replacements on pneumatic controls. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Performs incidental duties such as recording gauge readings; chemically analyzing and treating feed water to reduce boiler corrosion, maintain chemical balance, remove air, and reduce sludge deposits; unloading and storing fuels; maintaining boiler room areas in good order; and lubricating boiler house equipment such as pumps, motors and valves. Performs rework and other related duties of the same skill-level as described herein.
Knowledge and Ability Required
To apply a First Class Steam Engineer's knowledge of operation, maintenance and repair of high pressure steam boilers, air compressors and accessory equipment, and to obtain, hold and maintain any license required by local, state or federal government. Working knowledge of electronic and computer controls. Ability to obtain information from blueprints and operation and maintenance specifications and manuals, set up and operate various power machines, and use arithmetic including decimals and fractions.

Basic Qualifications:
Five years industrial and/or commercial experience operating and maintaining high and low pressure steam boilers. This experience should include operating high pressure boilers-gas, oil, and power auxiliaries, and maintaining fans, pumps, air compressors and accessory equipment, and other equipment used throughout the plant.
Desired Skills:
Maintain any license required by local, state or federal government.
GA Boiler operator license.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
