As a Mechanical Engineering Associate Manager at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Engineering Associate Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
-Management and development of their team, support of department initiatives and directorate undertakings, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution.
-Providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
-Selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development of their team.
-Supporting program development, execution of program requirements, and adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program.
-Encouragement of cross-program knowledge transfer between the various production and development efforts underway to ensure best practice processes are shared, overall Mechanical Engineering effort is monitored and resources properly allocated to support production programs, Mechanical Engineering leadership on all program issues, and acting as the focal point for Engineering effort on bid and proposal (B&P) activities for cost proposals and other mission area initiatives/IRAD efforts.
It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).

Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience
-Mechanical engineering design and/or analysis experience.
-Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Process Improvement and Affordability experience
-Self-Starter Personality; Ability to multitask
-Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking
-Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
-Full Lifecycle Development Experience

Desired Skills:
-Prior Engineering Management or leadership experience
-Proposal Development Experience;
-Basis of Estimate (BOE) Development
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.
-Working experience and requirements knowledge for the development of mechanical designs for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant (NNPP) and Commercial Energy Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment, and Precision Guided Systems (PGS) products.
- Experience/knowledge of CREO and/or CATIA design tools.
- Experience/knowledge of ANSA analysis tools.
- Experience/knowledge of CFD analysis tools.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
