Personal Computing Services (PCS) Application Development Team exists as an end-to-end solution to deliver associates quality computing devices. Our goal is to ensure that the right processes, people, and technologies are in place to meet our customers’ expectations of our services. You will have an opportunity to work in a team environment with a rewarding experience, meeting the needs of our internal customers, enabling them to be productive.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and Experience of Postman
Familiarity with Lean, Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Highly Desired Qualifications
Can own the process of discovering test cases and designing, developing, and deploying test automation in an environment where no testing procedures exist.
Is willing to work with the team lead to discover existing test processes at Nationwide and implement tools/frameworks that are company standards.
Is willing to perform some manual testing while discovering test cases and developing test automation.
Has experience automating testing for REST APIs and Web Applications.
Experience testing Windows Services and database stored procedures is a plus.
Experience automating testing in an environment where the applications and APIs are actively being enhanced and/or rewritten is a plus.
Experience adding test automation into Git pull request process or other CI/CD processes a big plus.
Is willing to teach one or more of the application developers on the team how to maintain and run test automation so that the team has a backup tester.
Is excited about the opportunity to work with a small team that is actively working to mature application development practices and quality control.
You will have the opportunity to work across the Personal Computing Services areas, interface with the SCCM, OSD and App Dev team members

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
