KBR is seeking a highly qualified Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Engineer to provide support for the NRO Mission Operations Directorate (MOD). MOD operates, maintains, and reports the status of intelligence satellites and their associated ground systems, provides defensive space control and space protection, monitors satellite flight safety, and provides space situational awareness. This effort includes support to innovation labs developing new tools, models, and algorithms to operate and exploit satellite space and ground systems.
As a SAR Engineer, you have in-depth experience and knowledge of SAR sensors on NRO spacecraft. Tasks may include development of prototype solutions and algorithms to enhance exploitation of SAR imagery.
This is a contingent position based upon contract award
Minimum Requirements:
Twenty (20) years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise and knowledge of NRO SAR sensors
Ability to develop prototype solutions and algorithms to enhance exploitation of SAR imagery.
Ability to deliver MOD lab innovations and mission operations advanced support
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related quantitative science field
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in a relevant field with seventeen (17) years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise OR PhD in a relevant field plus fourteen (14) years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise
Experience leading teams resulting in successful verification and test strategies/solutions for complex programs
Experience with cloud development processes
Experience with industry system engineering practices
Strong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadership
Clearance: TS/SCI with poly required
