Primary Job Accountabilities
Dealer Lending Credit Transactions Management
- Manage negotiations, compile documentation and analyze all new credit requests, renewals, and modifications in a timely manner ensuring package completeness.
- Review credit requests, analyze detailed financial and non-financial information, and prepare a comprehensive credit package for presentation to the appropriate credit authority for decision.
- Demonstrate ability to clearly and concisely present the request and risks associated with each credit package, including recommendations on the amount, credit structure and any conditions for approval.
- Build a strong working relationship with the Sales Team, Lead Agents, Legal as well as Borrowers.
- Build well-structured commercial loans, including cash flow analysis, industry standard financial ratios/covenants, and establishing loan collateralization.
- Review financial information in conjunction with policies and procedures to identify key credit risks and deviations from operational standards in order to make suggestions to mitigate credit and operational risk.
- Monitor and track existing transactions to ascertain renewals are handled appropriately and avoiding reaching its maturity date.
- Anticipate dealer group deterioration by timely and effectively reviewing updated financial information.
- Monitor and document risk grade changes. Recommends upgrades/downgrades with the appropriate rationale.
- Present dealer’s recommended structure proposal to the corresponding forum (i.e. ERMC).
Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor existing portfolio performance, such as: audit results, updated financial statements, special unforeseen events, etc.
- Anticipate risks before they arise by submitting periodical reports to Management.
- Drive presentation of Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) to the ERMC, at least quarterly.
- Assess overdrafts documenting reasoning behind the overline while establishing clear timeframe to cover.
Policies and Procedures Maintenance
- Review policies on an annual basis to ascertain compliance with TFSC (“Toyota Financial Services Corporation”), AOR, TCPR and TMCC (“Toyota Motor Credit Corporation”).
- Update procedure manual as required or when process changed.
- If required, perform testing and documentation of controls.
Portfolio Management & Risk Operations
- Manage and coordinate review of the documentation, closing, and funding process for all assigned accounts to ensure a smooth process with a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Must have the ability to review and analyze appraisals, ALTA Surveys, environmental assessments, title documentation, and other relevant agreements to effectively document each transaction to minimize the risk of loss for TFS.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of management and ability to build and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external customers and support departments.
- Ability to evaluate covenant compliance and borrowing base certificates to validate accuracy of information.
- Manage and coordinate all insurance requirements between TMCC and borrower.
- Support to reach satisfactory audit ratings.
- Manage and respond audit requirements in conjunction with the legal and compliance unit.
- Review and challenge findings to accurately respond or accept the observations.
- Establish action plans, if needed.
- Follow up action plans to ascertain compliance.
Knowledge and Skills
Education
Required
- Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS): BA in Accounting, Finance, Operational Management related fields
Preferred
- Advanced Degree. Specify: Master’s degree
Experience – Subject Matter Expertise
Required
- 5-10 years of relevant / progressive work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
Preferred
- 10+ years of relevant / progressive work experience (in similar field and/or industry)
Licenses, Certifications & Specialized Skills (if applicable)
Required
- Commercial lending experience in the financial services industry
- Financial services, banking, or automotive industry experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- High degree of organization skills with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI
- Knowledge and understanding of portfolio management
- High level knowledge of financial analysis; being able to clearly detect or anticipate borrower financial weakness.

- Commercial appraisal analysis
- Comprehensive project management knowledge
Additional Comments, Including Unique Circumstances
- Travel required up to 20% of the time. This position travels to Toyota Financial Services Headquarters in Plano, Texas several times per year.
Work schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In some instances, working overtime and during holidays is required.
This position is based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This position does not offer relocation assistance.
