Engineering Technician 5
KBR is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician (Engineering Technician 5) to join our esteemed onsite technical support team for Area Control Systems in Jacksonville, FL. This SCA position is integral to operating and enhancing cutting-edge automated ATC surveillance systems and communications technologies that play a crucial role in air traffic management.
The successful candidate will have eight years of hands-on experience in equipment installation and four years dedicated to designing, preparing, and modifying engineering documentation and drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, along with a Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Additionally, candidates must hold or be prepared to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within six months of employment.
We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in FACSFAC/IRSS and familiarity with critical platforms such as Navy FACTS, STARS, or Marine Corps IRSS. Knowledge of FOCIS, EVTS, LMMT, VIDS, ATC Radios, and Communications Circuits will significantly enhance your ability to contribute to our mission and support operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot field equipment failures for ACS equipment.
- Documentation of maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
- Responsible for the performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of ACS equipment.
- Responsible for test and evaluation, training installation, and logistic support for ACS branch and other designated systems, subsystems, and components associated with air traffic control and airspace management systems.
- Must have Microsoft Office product proficiency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship & Clearance: Must hold a Secret Clearance OR able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
Certification: CompTIA Security+ certification, or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience, including installation of equipment, AND Four (4) years of experience, including designing, preparing, and modifying engineering documents and drawings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in automated ATC surveillance systems / ATC surveillance or communications systems
- Experience FACSFAC/IRSS
- Familiarity with Navy FACTS, STARS, or the Marine Corp IRSS platforms
- Familiarity with FOCIS, EVTS, LMMT, VIDS, ATC Radios, Communications Circuits
This is an SCA position. SCA Rate: $32.20/HR.
Work shift: Nonstandard work shift, evening or night shift and weekend work will be required.
