What does a successful IT Operations Technician do at Fiserv?
You will join the team at our Fishers, IN location and receive training how to identify issues that may impact our clients by proactively monitoring our mainframe/data center platforms providing first-level diagnosis. You act with support teams to resolve escalated incidents affecting our client base quickly with a high quality of service to ensure all designated specifications are restored. It is important to complete all scheduled tasks because they directly support our client platforms.
What you will do:
- Perform detailed monitoring to recognize, troubleshoot, escalate, document, and resolve identified incidents during your shift.
- Actively address incoming messages, viewing pending tasks in queues, checking the current state of processes, and taking actions like cancelling or deleting completed/unnecessary tasks to maintain system efficiency.
- Ensure all tasks configured within a Job Scheduler system will be automatically executed based on their specified schedule when the conditions for that schedule are met.
- Perform system recovery tasks to process restoring information systems to their known state after a hardware/ software disruption, compromise, or failure.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to collect data to provide recommendations for incident resolution.
- Document troubleshooting checklists to quickly identify and resolve potential issues.
What you will need to have:
- A high school diploma, equivalent work, or a combination of work, education, and military experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an IT Operations position.
- 2+ years of experience with job scheduler JCL, Broadcom ONE Automation, Control-M, IBM Mainframe Consoles and File Transmissions.
- 2+ years of experience with large mainframe IBM environments.
- 2+ years of experience working with TSO, ISFP, CAVIEW, SYSVIEW and IOF.
- Experience with ITIL ticket systems; Service Now.
What would be great to have:
- Experience with batch job ESP, Broadcom ONE Automation, and Control M schedulers.
- Experience in batch job processing, batch abend troubleshooting and batch job restart processes.
- Experience with JCL.
- Experience with Mainframe Console Operations.
- Proficiency with ITIL Service Management Tools such as Service Now, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Service Level Management.
Important info about this role:
- You will work an assigned schedule of: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Sunday -Tuesday (working every other Wednesday).
- Flexibility in schedule to work required overtime that includes weekends and holidays.
