Overview
ABM is hiring a Background Screening & Onboarding Administration Specialist! Our HR Service Center Centralized Adjudication and Onboarding team provides support and administration of pre- and post-employment background and drug screening needs as well as centralized administration of HR-related background screening programs and team member onboarding functions. This role will work with a collaborative and cross-functional team, partners with program owners, and meet a variety of team member onboarding needs.
This is a Hybrid work arrangement (in-office Tue/Wed/Thu) located at 1459 Hamilton Ave., Cleveland, OH 44114 with free parking!
Essential Functions
- Provide background check program support including adjudication and troubleshooting, directly impacting the organization’s hiring practices
- Support the drug testing and safety programs
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws regarding screening and selection requirements
- Specialize on states with more complexity around compliance requirements where state laws require additional review and adherence to specific regulations
- Review screening data to ensure compliance with customer contracts
- Communicate screening results in a timely fashion; resolve discrepancies; maintain relationships with vendors; work with team members to create communication on the process.
- Provide ongoing support to talent acquisition, field Human Resource and onsite managers to improve the program, troubleshoot program issues, monitor policy and provide critical updates
- Respond to system access requests and questions
- Identify; suggest; recommend process improvements
- Provide exceptional service to our candidates and employees
- Maintain positive cross-functional partnerships with key stakeholders (Talent Acquisition, Candidate Care, HR Business Partners, etc.) to ensure a seamless team member experience
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; ensure compliance with FCRA, HIPAA and privacy laws
- Participate in special projects, systems testing, audits, and other duties as needed/assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field preferred
Experience:
- Strong work ethic with high integrity and commitment to customer service
- 3-5+ years of HR experience required, preferably in an HR service/contact center environment, and/or a focus on background screening
- Background screening knowledge and general HR knowledge
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders and ability to provide empathetic support to team members
- Comfortable navigating complex business needs without a clearly defined path, and providing a well thought out solution when a need is identified
- Strong problem-solving capability and critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess risks and determine the most appropriate path forward to resolution
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, including enterprise HR case management systems; Oracle and ServiceNow experience preferred
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinker with confidence and composure to work with leaders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with solid judgement and discretion
- Writing proficiency – write and edit with speed and accuracy, displaying a strong knowledge of English grammar and the ability to create clear, engaging, and informative text and appropriate at all reading levels
- English fluency required
