Plant Controller

This is a full-time salary position: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift.
The Plant Controller, Strathroy, ON, Canada, will report to the Director of Finance, and is accountable for effectively controlling, reporting and analyzing the financial and statistical information regarding the company’s Strathroy operations on a timely and accurate basis. The Plant Controller is also accountable to develop and maintain appropriate internal control systems and procedures that safeguard the assets of the Company.
Strathroy, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.

The Role:
Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions, including hiring, training and retaining competent accounting staff
Manage the accumulation of all financial and statistical data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results
Coordinate and prepare internal financial statements. Provide management with management reports that support decision making ex. Direct Labour variance, Material usage, Scrap, departmental spending Purchase Price Variance “PPV”, overhead analysis
Prepare and manage the annual budget as well as the monthly forecasts
Assess current accounting and internal control processes, develop recommendations for improvement and monitor on going performance
Liaise with external auditors and lead financial audits. Make recommendations for improvements
Preparation of sales analysis for purposes of planning and actual sales to forecast
Other duties as assigned
The Candidate:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance), required
C.M.A., C.G.A., or C.A. preferred
Requires a minimum of five+ years of progressive work experience in financial management, required
Experience working in a manufacturing environment at a middle management level, required
Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), tax laws (including income tax & value added tax)
Excellent computer skills utilizing an ERP system as well as MS Office
Currently Catalent does not participate in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience
