Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager in Cary, NC. In this critical leadership role, you and your team will focus on working with global suppliers toward alleviating supply chain constraints ensuring that the Building Construction Products Division has the materials and components to meet business demand.
What you can look forward to in this role:
- The Supply Chain Manager’s span of control includes supply chain processes, planning, material requirements, inventory management, demand and orders management and supply chain performance.
- As a member of Supply Chain leadership team, you will provide input to facility goals, strategy development and yearly business planning.
- Accountable for development of the supply chain organizational design, key enterprise inventory metrics, prime product availability, etc.
- Monitors facility production schedules to ensure they provide proper product availability to dealers/customers while balancing manufacturing constraint issues.
- Monitors the Sales and Operations Planning, ensuring robust process conformance.
- Works with product managers/global supply chain manager to ensure supply chain strategies are developed and aligned with worldwide sourcing strategies and provides inputs to supplier sourcing and resource management.
- Works closely with relevant functional areas and assigns resources to supply chain performance improvement projects.
- Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.
- Responsible for compliance related activities for inventory management and inventory import/export controls. Participates and presents regularly in Compliance Council.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.
- Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
- Supply Chain Management - PHA: Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials, components and supplies, and delivery of finished products.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering curriculum
- Extensive, progressive leadership experience in a supply chain discipline
- Background in scheduling within complexity of attachments and/or internal value streams
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification
- Experience in purchasing, parts distribution and/or logistics
- Ability to establish and monitor policies and guidelines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- A degree in a manufacturing discipline
