Our Opportunity:
Chewy is growing! We are looking for a Manager, Business Intelligence III to join our Healthcare Analytics Team. In this role, you will own end-to-end analytics for our CarePlus and Content businesses (PetMD and BeChewy). These are high growth businesses which leverage clickstream and customer behavior data to inform strategic roadmaps, feature enhancements, and new programs.
As the Analytics leader for these businesses, you will be responsible for delivering scalable data infrastructure, developing self-serve analytics tools, and using intuitive data visualizations to unlock insights. You will partner directly with business General Managers, Product leaders, IT Software and Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to anticipate the data infrastructure and tooling needs of the organization and proactively build solutions that tackle problems.
As part of a team that is constantly launching new businesses and features, you will be responsible for using technical solutions to transform raw data from various sources into actionable insights.
The ideal candidate is proficient in building analytics tools and leading deep-dives on clickstream and customer engagement data in a digital context. This candidate has exemplary data visualization and technical problem-solving skills and a penchant for detail. Further, this individual is highly proficient in collaborating across technology and business teams and has demonstrable experience delivering high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with multi-functional teams to roll out new tools, communicate data infrastructure changes, and share analytical findings with executive leaders. What You'll Do:
- Develop analytics frameworks and own analyses that quantify the impact of digital assets on key customer and financial indicators
- Design experiments and partner with Product, Tech, and business leaders to generate results, insights, and actions from product launches and feature changes
- Construct and deliver analytics product roadmaps that deliver insightful and user-friendly dashboards for both internal and external customers
- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals.
- Proactively assess the data needs of Healthcare and related functions and partner with technical teams to deliver proof of concepts, QA data sources, and deliver new data tables, metrics, and analytics products
- Lead efforts to automate data integration, extraction, and distribution of reports to multiple partners
- Own and continually improve metrics documentation and data governance
- Partner with IT teams to construct downstream impact analysis and own organisational change communication for Healthcare data sources
- Document technical details of your work using Jira, Confluence, Git, etc.
- Proactively monitor existing metrics, propose new metrics, and work across the organization to deliver actionable intelligence
What You'll Need:
- Demonstrable experience analyzing and delivering insights from clickstream data from sources such as Segment, Google Analytics, Adobe or comparable platform
- Solid understanding and experience leading experiment design, A/B testing, and other frameworks for evaluating effectiveness of feature and product changes
- Demonstrable experience developing self-serve BI solutions and automated reports, including tools that enable defect alerting and data quality monitoring
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years automating data processes, developing dashboards, and building scalable analytics solutions in an ecommerce, omni-channel, or retail setting (Tableau strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of experience running ETL or data transformation processes, technical architecture documents, and delivering net new or enhancing existing data warehouses
- 5+ years of experience working with data platforms such as: Snowflake, AWS, Vertica, or other RDB
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and demonstrable ability to write, debug, and optimize SQL queries
- Programming expertise in Python, Java, Scala, or another modern programming language
- Demonstrable experience with data modeling in large, cloud-based Data warehousing / data lake environments (Snowflake strongly preferred)
- Strong leadership abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience leading organisational change processes
- Demonstrable experience delivering high quality and insightful data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights
- Exemplary partner management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
- Thorough understanding of Financial indicators and P&L statement
- Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
- Demonstrable experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Bonus:
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience such as Masters in Analytics or MBA
- Project Management Certification
- Experience collaborating with Data Science teams to deliver machine learning models from scratch
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Business Intelligence Engineer III position is $134,500.00 - $215,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, and a new hire and annual equity grant.
