Job Description
This role can be based in our San Francisco, CA or Mountain View, CA office.

LinkedIn’s R&D Finance Team is seeking a Manager of FP&A and Business Operations to support our Infrastructure team, driving efficient and effective planning and forecasting processes and providing clear visibility into the R&D spend and investments. Area of focus will include driving the long range forecasting, reporting and deeper development of infrastructure metrics; and working with horizontal and product engineering teams on R&D investments and ROI tracking.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain long range modeling of infrastructure costs, provide key decision support on investment decisions
- Partner closely with engineering leaders to support and manage infrastructure growth and investments.
- Oversee the completion of complex financial modeling development / improvement / maintenance.
- Drive the development and implementation of new processes to support the successful completion of timely and accurate forecasts, financial planning consolidations, and tracking of key investments and performance metrics.
- Drive data-driven analysis, size opportunities, develop understanding of key performance drivers to identify areas of improvement and prioritize strategic opportunities.
- Act as the connective tissue across multiple R&D teams to shape the vision, influence decisions, bridge different points of views, see-around-the-corner for any LinkedIn implications.
- Define actionable deliverables, create workstreams, define RAPIDs, track and monitor progress, diagnose and resolve issues, proactively manage risks and address misalignment between teams.
- Communicate and present succinctly and effectively in exec-ready formats.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of general work experience, including 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, management consulting, business operations, strategy consulting or equivalent roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degrees preferred
- Direct experience working with both on-premise datacenter forecasting (capex and operating expense) as well as cloud hosting expenses
- Advanced Excel Modeling skills and demonstration of critical thinking—ability to question the output of a financial model and consider options for improvement
- Strong systems skills with preference toward Hyperion (Essbase) and Oracle Financials
- Ability to structure and analyze problems effectively to develop the team’s thinking, facilitate alignment on key strategic decisions among various stakeholders, and identify 80/20 opportunities to reach insightful, implementable, and impactful answers.
- Able to have a strong, independent voice to push teams’ thinking, influence leaders on direction, while able to build trust-based relationships across the company to drive alignment
- High-energy, team-first, positive attitude: Must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills: Need solid written and verbal communications skills and presence to be able to facilitate discussions and communicate insights with senior-level leaders.

The pay range for this role is $123,000 to $199,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
