SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Lead Compliance Analyst - Absenteeism is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and validating attendance data to ensure accuracy and identify appropriate levels of disciplinary actions. The analyst will notify employees and supervisors of attendance issues, document the process in relevant systems, and generate weekly reports on attendance trends. By providing valuable insights into workforce availability, the analyst will support Workforce Planners in developing effective workforce strategies and plans
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and document data to ensure it is reliable, sufficient, relevant, and compliant with collective bargaining agreements and Amtrak policies and procedures. Present findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Performance Review: Review and analyze evidentiary data to assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of performance activities.
- Issue Resolution: Take action to resolve data-driven issues equitably and provide support to leadership and SD&O departments regarding employee absenteeism.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong working relationships with internal and external parties, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and coordination.
- Process Management: Serve as a liaison between SD&O, supervisors/managers, and the LR hearing/charging office to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and policies.
- Data Documentation: Document information accurately in relevant systems, such as TDRS, MERS, and EERS.
- Training and Development: Provide formal training to supervisors on absenteeism processing, documentation, and system usage.
- Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks related to formal discipline, including attending hearings as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of relevant experience
- In lieu of education a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
- Extremely detail oriented individual that possesses comprehensive knowledge of document management processes.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work appropriately.
- Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
- Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to establish effective working relationships with management and union representatives.
- Must be able to multi-task with attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as an inventory clerk or other auditing/data analyzing functions
- Transportation industry experience
- Prior experience as a union charging officer.
- Prior experience as a Trainmaster
- Working knowledge of SD&O employee review systems such as LMS,TDRS, MERS, or EERS.
- Working knowledge of mainframe applications and the ability to obtain data through SQL methods.
WORK ENVRIORNMENT:
- Office building environment.
- Work in cubicle setting; stand, sit, bend, twist, use file drawers.
- Sit at computer to complete assignments, projects, and majority of tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Occasional travel as needed.
- Maintins a high level of accuracy when applying the Union rules to the process.
- Consistantly applies excellent customer service skills.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary/hourly range is $94,300 - $122,256. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
