We are currently seeking a Specialty Segment Financial Leader (Divisional CFO) who will oversee the financial operations of the Specialty Segment and its diverse operating companies, with total revenue of approximately $2.5 billion. This role will set the strategic direction for the segment’s finance and accounting functions, drive financial objectives, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ensure alignment with the broader APi Group goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Partner with the Segment Leader and operational company leaders to drive business strategy and financial goals.
- Support company controllers to execute long-term financial strategies to support growth, profitability, and market competitiveness.
- Professionally develop controllers and their financial support teams, to establish long term stability and role succession plans.
- Provide actionable insights to improve financial performance and drive operational efficiency.
- Lead the segment through ERP transformations and change management, ensuring the seamless implementation of new systems and processes to enhance efficiency and support overall strategic goals.=
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the segment.
- Lead the segment in driving systems landscape, roadmap and delivery.
- Lead in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
- Develop KPIs to track progress and ensure alignment with financial goals.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, SOX, IFRS, IRS and corporate standards.
- Oversee all regulatory compliance activities, including audits and tax filings, for the segment.
- Maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
Capital Management & Investment:
- Optimize the allocation of capital within the segment, ensuring returns on investments align with corporate strategy.
- Manage working capital, liquidity, and balance sheet health, overseeing cash flow and debt management.
- Lead initiatives to improve ROI.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team across multiple functions, including FP&A, accounting, treasury, internal controls and risk management.
- Lead and supervise the Segment Payroll Director through payroll system & procedural changes, ensuring continuous improvement of shared services to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Foster a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead the implementation of APi corporate goals and initiatives at the segment level, assisting APi in developing new goals and initiatives based on segment needs.
- Participate in APi CFO team strategy and goal setting and supporting the APi Financial team with assessing M&A opportunities.
- Navigate the segment through changes and challenges, ensuring alignment with APi Group's broader goals.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate key financial risks, credit risk, and operational risks.
- Oversee the insurance and risk management programs for the segment.
M&A:
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, financial integration, and post-merger performance tracking.
- Work with corporate development teams to assess potential acquisition targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of financial leadership experience, ideally in industrial services or a related sector.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale financial operations, preferably within a business segment or division of a larger corporation.
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, FP&A, and capital management.
- Experience managing a multi-location finance team.
- Expertise in financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and compliance.
- Strong business acumen and ability to drive strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Additional information:
This role is based out of our New Brighton office. The base pay range is $257,800-$386,400, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
