As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician Manager (DIAM), you will lead a team of Inventory & Asset Management technicians responsible for inbound/outbound logistics tasks, inventory cycle audits, and Data Center regulatory compliance activities. You will guide your employees to effectively run warranty processes and data bearing device (DBD) destruction. This opportunity will allow you to model leadership principles, drive focus on accurately and efficiently completing Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks, and work with stakeholders to manage escalations as they arise.

- You will train your team to safely move racks, ensure they are in compliance with heavy-lifting equipment requirements, and enforce other safety standards. You’ll also support the planning and management of end-to-end project plans, assessing resource and workflow patterns to determine any needed changes.
- You will lead a team that executes incoming/outgoing deliveries and documents inbound/outbound packages, and will be responsible for overall day-to-day operations for inbound and outbound processes. You’ll also lead a team that supports third-party personnel in inventory management.
- You will engage with internal and external stakeholders, as well as suppliers, to ensure that any issues are managed and resolved. You’ll also focus on accurately completing Inventory and Asset Management tasks with your team.
- You will empower junior employees to effectively process Return Merchandise Authorization warranties, as well as appropriately handle all high-level escalations. You’ll also ensure all data-bearing devices are destroyed, coordinating with third-party vendors in this process as necessary.
- You will present briefings that detail current and projected procurement models, as well as work with the supply base and procurement team to draft purchase orders with accurate prices. You’ll also collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve efficiency, cost, and simplicity of workstream processes, services, and solutions.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma AND 3 years experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to work 12 hours shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) project management experience.
- Certification in American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)/Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM), Inventory Control, OR equivalent.
Materials Handling M3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $59,000 - $121,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $74,600 - $134,200 per year.
