Role: The Associate Director of U.S. Neuropsychiatry Communications will play a key role in supporting communication strategies that position Cobenfy as an innovative treatment within neuropsychiatry. Working closely with the Senior Director and broader U.S. Commercial, Worldwide Medical Affairs, Advocacy and Corporate Affairs teams, this role will help implement key communication initiatives, manage day-to-day project execution, and ensure consistent messaging that reflects Cobenfy's value in addressing schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric conditions in development, including Alzheimer's disease.
The Associate Director is a detail-oriented and collaborative communicator who will coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to support BMS's objectives. This role involves a mix of project management, content creation, media coordination, and relationship-building with patient advocacy groups and other partners. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience in healthcare or biopharma communications, and the ability to work effectively within matrixed teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of Cobenfy's integrated communications strategy, including public relations, brand messaging, and issues management, to support product visibility and growth.
- Drive multiple ongoing projects seamlessly, and work with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to enhance and reinforce the Cobenfy and BMS Neuropsychiatry narrative and reputation internally among employees and externally among key stakeholders.
- Help to create and maintain external relationships on behalf of BMS with key stakeholders in neuropsychiatry (e.g., media, industry thought leaders, advocacy groups and other business clients).
- Serve as a key contributor in shaping and advancing above-brand disease education initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of content for internal and external communications, including press materials, presentations, and digital assets, ensuring alignment with BMS standards and brand messaging.
- Promote integration of cross-functional communications efforts, including partnering closely with U.S. Commercial, Patient Advocacy, Access, and R&D teams, to ensure consistent and cohesive messaging across all communications channels.
- Help track communications activities and impact, preparing regular reports to measure success against objectives and support ongoing optimization.
- Manage day-to-day interactions with external agencies to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet timelines and align with BMS policies.
- Partner with internal teams on communications that foster an engaged and informed workforce, supporting a positive culture around BMS's mission in neuropsychiatry.
Requirements: The successful candidate has 8 years of experience in brand, commercial, or corporate communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. S/he will be a self-motivated leader with a track record of setting, driving and delivering against integrated U.S.-focused communications strategies. S/he will have expertise in strategic planning, issues management, internal communications, executive communications, and product communications, able to collaborate with business leaders to develop integrated communications strategies across every phase of the product lifecycle. Finally, this individual will have a strong grasp of storytelling that can engage and energize employees and support the company's business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree required. Communications or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience driving successful product lifecycle strategy in coordination with business partners in support of enterprise priorities.
- Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the business to drive and scale communications strategies across the U.S. Region.
- Ability to influence and advise senior leadership in both communications and business settings. Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare space and the technical side of the business, including U.S. regulatory policy, R&D, pricing, and access.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Superior written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to engage with and persuade a wide variety of audiences.
- Able to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex, fast-paced, and changing environment.
- Highly knowledgeable about stakeholder engagement, content creation, channel strategy, and digital/social media best practices, including how to optimize content delivery across channels and audiences.
