The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursuing an opportunity that has multiple openings for a Cloud Services Engineer to work in Multiple
Locations. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on
providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to
enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to
maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.
Locations:
These positions will be onsite. Candidates need to be located near Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA, and Fayetteville, NC to be considered.
Primary Responsibilities.
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure and scalable cloud solutions across multiple platforms, including AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
Develop cloud architecture frameworks and strategies that align with EDAT program objectives and USSOCOM operational requirements.
Oversee day-to-day operations of cloud environments, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
Implement cost-optimization strategies to maximize the value of cloud services while maintaining performance standards.
Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to DoD security and compliance requirements, including NIST 800-53, DISA STIG, and Zero Trust principles.
Implement security best practices for identity management, encryption, data protection, and access control in cloud environments.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Integrate cloud services with existing on-premise systems to enable seamless interoperability.
Collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and operations teams to design and deploy cloud solutions that meet mission-critical needs.
Engage with USSOCOM stakeholders to identify requirements, present solutions, and address cloud-related challenges.
Implement and manage cloud monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve performance and security issues.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud environments.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
Provide mentorship and training to junior team members and stakeholders on cloud services and best practices.
Basic Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance.
Advanced cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in cloud services engineering or architecture roles.
Proven track record of designing and managing enterprise-scale cloud environments in government or high-security contexts.
Expertise in cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud solutions.
Proficiency in cloud-native tools and services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible).
Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align cloud solutions with mission objectives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications.
Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Security certifications, such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CCSP, are highly desirable.
Experience implementing Zero Trust frameworks and integrating security controls into cloud architectures.
Knowledge of emerging cloud technologies, including serverless computing, AI/ML services, and edge computing.
Familiarity with USSOCOM operational requirements and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).
Previous experience supporting DoD programs, ensuring compliance with strict security and operational standards.
Proficiency in designing and managing automated deployment pipelines and incorporating DevSecOps practices.
Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
Proven ability to analyze and optimize cloud performance, implementing cost-control strategies to maximize value.
Experience with cloud billing and cost management tools to monitor and forecast cloud usage costs.
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers in cloud technologies.
Strong ability to foster a collaborative environment and drive innovation within the team.

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
