Overview
Assists Director and facilities staff as assigned with facility operations of all owned and leased Catholic Charities properties to ensure resident and staff safety. Performs work functions in a variety of building trade areas, including some custodial duties including room turns. Responsible for on-call duties evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
The Maintenance Technician II will complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures. Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities. Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary. Assists in emergencies as needed.
Pay: $28/hour - $36/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions
- Responds to work orders and performs necessary repairs as needed to ensure and maintain a safe occupancy and a high-quality living environment by completing work orders for assigned areas, assist with grounds maintenance, performs preventative and routine maintenance on all building equipment, and performs scheduled maintenance inspections as assigned.
- Purchases supplies as needed avoiding overstocking and ensuring supplies are available on a timely basis with the lowest possible cost.
- Provides on-call coverage for Catholic Charities Facilities Management as scheduled.
- Repairs basic electrical and plumbing devices to ensure all are in good working order.
- Be environmentally conscientious, i.e.:
- To ensure items disposed are disposable and not recyclable.
- Be cognizant of hazardous waste, metals, paper, corrugated, and certain glass.
- Report hazardous conditions encountered to your supervisor immediately.
- Assists with or completes unit turnovers (room pack ups) in a timely manner and removes and secures resident belongings for storage and release upon request from authorized staff, prepares or helps to prepare unit for new tenant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency plus two (2) years' experience in building maintenance required; prefer graduate of building maintenance/trade program.
- Special Low Pressure Boiler License required
- HVAC experience required
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, and building safety regulations.
- Skills in prioritizing and organizing work requests.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- Required to supply a set of basic hand tools to perform job duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Experience in snow removal and lawn care preferred.
- Basic computer skills desired
