DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented District Manager to join our team specializing in Sales, 100% remote.
Candidate can be located in Memphis Tennesse or St. Louis Mo area.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Increase Sales Opportunities: By identifying, researching, and contacting prospective customers, you’ll open new avenues for sales growth.
- Execute Strategic Account Plans: Developing and executing account plans for top prospects will ensure targeted and effective sales efforts.
- Build and Strengthen Relationships: Establishing new customer relationships and enhancing existing ones will help you understand customer needs and drive loyalty.
- Offer Tailored Solutions: Using your understanding of customer priorities, you’ll identify and present Cummins solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Drive Customer Agreement: Helping customers evaluate data and understand the value proposition of Cummins solutions will secure their commitment.
- Negotiate and Manage Accounts: Conducting negotiations and managing accounts receivables will ensure smooth transactions and maintain financial health.
- Achieve Sales Targets: By driving sales and ensuring customer satisfaction, you’ll meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the company’s success.
- Mentor and Lead: Providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced account executives will foster a collaborative and skilled sales team.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Business Insight: Apply your knowledge of the business and marketplace to advance the organization’s goals. Understand industry trends and how they impact your strategies.
- Articulating Value Proposition: Clearly explain and demonstrate how your products, solutions, and services meet customer needs and stand out from the competition. This involves interpreting customer needs and tailoring your pitch accordingly.
- Channel Awareness: Understand and explain the industry structure, dynamics, and paths to market. This knowledge will help you advance organizational goals by navigating the market effectively.
- Negotiations Excellence: Use effective negotiation tools and methods to achieve mutually beneficial agreements. This includes adhering to company guidelines and ensuring all parties are satisfied with the contract terms.
- Account Planning: Identify objectives and drive the execution of business and account strategies. Regularly review progress against targets and adjust plans as needed to stay on track.
- Adapting to Target Audience: Explain complex topics in a way that your audience can understand and use. Tailor your communication to fit the knowledge level and needs of your audience.
- Developing Account Strategy: Assess the current status of accounts and define future goals by balancing customer requirements with business capabilities. Set achievable targets aligned with the business strategy.
- Sales Forecasting: Collect and analyze customer data to create accurate sales forecasts. Use historical data and current trends to predict future consumption patterns.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Plan proactively for successful execution of sales strategies. Evaluate the health of your sales pipeline and adjust your approach as needed to achieve sales objectives.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Required: College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales or a related subject, or acceptable sales related work experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Remote Work Efficiency : Develop strong self-management and organizational skills to stay productive while working from home. Utilize digital tools and maintain a dedicated workspace to minimize distractions.
- Travel Preparedness : Be ready to travel frequently (50-70%) across Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Southern Illinois and Western Tennesse. Ensure you have a reliable travel plan and can manage your schedule effectively while on the road.
- Technical/Mechanical Aptitude : Have a solid understanding of motorized vehicles, especially class 5-8 trucks. This technical knowledge will be crucial when explaining and demonstrating products to customers.
- Customer Relationship Skills : Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Demonstrate empathy, active listening, and responsiveness to their needs to foster trust and loyalty.
- Technical Expertise Demonstration : Be prepared to showcase your technical expertise. This could involve explaining complex mechanical concepts or demonstrating how products work in a way that is easy for customers to understand.
- CRM Proficiency : Familiarize yourself with Salesforce or other CRM programs. Efficiently using these tools will help you manage customer information, track sales activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Location Advantage : If possible, Memphis or St Louis will be advantageous due to the proximity to key customer locations. This can help reduce travel time and improve customer engagement.
