We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to join our growing team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicates safety awareness to employees; conducts safety orientation training on safety processes and procedures, safety equipment, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Manages employee safety training program and maintains program records ensuring that all employees have successfully completed established training requirements via Safety Matrix.
- Works directly with management to ensure safety compliance amongst all companies.
- Provides direction to jobsite supervisors in safe work practices, company and client work practices and applicable governmental regulations on the jobsite.
- Resolves safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Communicates with management and clients providing updates on safety activities.
- Performs site safety audits on a regular basis. Assists field personnel in complying with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Educates project personnel through safety training, Tool Box Talks, and Job Safety Analysis.
- Manages DOT program for company vehicles ensuring compliance of all DOT regulations and requirements.
- Schedules safety trainings with outside vendors.
- Gathers and enters required safety data in ISNetworld, PEC, Avetta, NCMS, TPS Alert safety programs regularly.
- Enters monthly work hours and incidents into Site Tracker for every client.
- Reports all injuries to OSHA as needed and maintains OSHA logs.
- Coordinates, implements, and interprets accident prevention programs, health safety programs, safety manuals, and safety policies, and assures compliance of company policies and regulatory agencies.
- Manages the ordering, distribution, and maintenance of personal protective equipment ensuring that all employees are equipped with the appropriate protection.
- Responds to accidents and incidents, conducts investigations, identified cause of accidents through Root Cause Analysis, suspends activities if necessary, determines how such incidents should be prevented in the future, and closes out accidents/incidents reporting.
- Conducts comprehensive audits of work plans, activities, practices, equipment, and tools as part of a constant monitoring process to control, eliminate, and prevent hazards and injury.
- Assists management with documenting all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensures corrective measures are immediately implemented; follows through to ensure corrections have been made.
- Accompanies all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours.
- Works directly with DOT compliance company to ensure drivers complete Driver Qualification File applications. Ensures driver compliance with DOT medical cards, CDL’s, MVR’s, Clearinghouse reports, Electronic Logging Devices, and all other aspects of DOT compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Communicates effectively with field employees, management staff and clients to relay company safety requirement and expectations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Safety degree preferred.
- Safety certification preferred.
- 5+ years of previous safety experience
- Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations preferred
- Previous oil and gas experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of OSHA regulations/training requirements
- PEC Safeland/H2S trainer required.
