Raytheon Advanced Airborne RF (AARF) Systems Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a Lead System Engineer – Electronic Warfare Development in Goleta, CA that will provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary program teams. With over 150 active programs, there are multiple opportunities, not only for career growth, but also to develop innovative system prototypes that support the business unit.
What You Will Do
Derive system requirements from customer-furnished information such as reference scenarios
Develop technical performance metrics for system architectures that support engagement of emerging complex threats
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary program team to develop and design prototype systems
Participate in definition of team objectives and provide solutions to complex technical tasks including system design decisions involving trade studies, requirements allocation, and verification methods
Generate test plans/procedures for assessing EW system performance
Architect test configurations for exercising the Unit Under Test in both lab and field environments
Execute in-house and off-site system demonstration activities for demonstrations and/or subsystem sell-off, and brief senior program and engineering leadership
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior system engineering experience on EW or Radar programs
Experience providing technical briefs to subcontractors, senior level executives, and/or customers
Experience planning, managing, and/or leading execution of EW/Radar systems integration, verification, and validation activities in both lab and field environments
Experience preparing system/subsystem test documentation (e.g., plans, procedures, and/or reports)
Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with new business development for prototype system programs
8+ years of experience in millimeter, microwave RF Design, and in Digital Signal Processing
Experience writing requirements for EW/Radar system test equipment and Special Test Equipment
Experience with Earned Value Management / Cost Account Management
Experience with requirements tracking tools such as DOORS
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
