Are you a customer-obsessed builder with a passion for helping customers achieve their full potential? Do you have the business savvy, Serverless background, and sales skills necessary to help position AWS as the cloud provider of choice for customers? Do you love building new strategic and data-driven businesses? Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) Serverless team as a Business Development Specialist!
The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.
As a Serverless Specialist, you will support customers building cutting edge, modern applications on AWS. You will develop and execute go-to-market strategies for AWS Serverless services like AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Step Functions, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon SNS, and Amazon SQS. You will help AWS’s largest customers adopt Serverless to reduce operational overhead and increase business agility. You will work directly with the AWS service teams to bring the voice of the customer to the service roadmap. You will build go-to-market plans that scale through the AWS sales field, AWS Partners, and AWS programs.
Key job responsibilities
As part of the Serverless WWSO team, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Contribute or own the Go-To-Market plan for key areas of Serverless. This includes driving the overall sales and technical strategy. Help define the market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we can target. Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
2. Strategic business development - Focus on complex deals and develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.
3. Work with customers and partners building on the cutting edge. Build a strong pipeline of customers who are working in key areas of the market or building new and interesting solutions. Work with these customers to become "lighthouse wins" of success.
4. Incubate and launch new services or key features. As we launch new services, be a part of the core team that works with the initial customers to ensure we have strong references at launch. Drive a plan to ensure sales and partner readiness. Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
