OPPORTUNITY:
BrightSpark is seeking an experienced Salesforce Administrator to support the implementation of Salesforce for our Fund Development team, who are responsible for all our fundraising efforts. The implementation is a collaborative effort between our internal teams and external Salesforce consultants and must include an integration between Salesforce and Oracle NetSuite, our accounting system. The successful candidate will support both the installation process and implementation, including process development, workflow creation and testing, troubleshooting, and staff training, among other arising needs.
As the temporary Salesforce Administrator & Fund Development Coordinator, the candidate will be the primary expert on the Salesforce platform and support any additional efforts, strategies, and systems that influence Salesforce, including the day-to-day support of the implementation process, data migration, and clean-up as well as training staff on the Salesforce platform. During this time, you will also provide day-to-day support to the Fund Development team, which includes the External Affairs Officer and Development Coordinator. Responsibilities include ensuring our consultants and team members have the correct information to configure Salesforce to meet business requirements, providing best practice recommendations, and implementing functionality for various internal stakeholders and projects. You will work closely with implementation consultants, finance and fund development leadership, and their respective teams, who will hold the day-to-day transaction responsibility for the long term.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
During Migration & Implementation (start date through 12/31/24):
- Define user needs and work as a conduit between BrightSpark’s Fund Development team, Finance team, and Salesforce consultant to ensure Salesforce is set up appropriately.
- Provide data entry, report building, KPI reporting, maintenance, and other similar support to the Fund Development team during this process.
- Work directly with BrightSpark’s Data Specialist, NetSuite Support, and Salesforce consultant on successfully planning the integration of Salesforce and NetSuite
After Migration; Continued Implementation:
- Manage and administer the Salesforce environment, including customization, configuration, maintenance, security, user management, data integrity, and integration with other applications that support the organization’s business processes.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to all BrightSpark end users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement Salesforce customizations using automation tools.
- Test configurations, integrations, and automation developed by external Salesforce contractors; understand the process for creating these for future development of new processes
- Follow leading practices to plan and launch changes to the configuration of Salesforce, including communicating with users about upcoming changes, testing the changes, scheduling them appropriately, and coordinating feedback about how well they work.
- Ensure data entry processes and reporting are created and structured appropriately to give accurate information to both Fund Development and Finance staff.
- Create and train staff on reports and dashboards to convey data insights across teams; perform necessary research and collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement data insights strategy and design, including ensuring dashboards and reports are precise and accurate to meet intended requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to create and socialize data integrity strategy; communicate with stakeholders to ensure team compliance with data purity processes and procedures.
- Work with users to troubleshoot Salesforce issues and implement solutions; monitor system performance and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Salesforce platform.
- Define user needs and work with BrightSpark’s Salesforce consultant to deliver custom applications.
- Provide backup and administrative support for Development Coordinator and External Affairs Officer
- Act as an organizational representative in all situations, setting a solid example of professionalism, work completion and quality, and commitment to organizational goals and ethics.
- Prioritize efforts in a highly organized manner while maintaining flexibility in scheduling and adhering to quality requirements, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Provide backup coverage for other team members, as needed.
- Work closely with contractors and vendors as needed to facilitate services.
- Complete other duties and perform other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field.
- Salesforce Certified Administrator certification
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams, and Monday.com
- 2+ years of IT management or a related role.
- 2+ years supporting fundraising and finance departments
- Blackbaud Raisers Edge software experience
- Experience with complex grants and financial reporting
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator.
- Experience with financial software (NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, including 1) ability to dialogue with non-technical teams to develop a deep understanding of business needs, and 2) ability to translate that understanding into a clear implementation plan in Salesforce, leveraging your solid understanding of Salesforce leading practices, standard and custom objects, workflows, integrations, security, and compliance.
- Experience and willingness to provide administrative support to the fund development team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to plan effectively for comprehensive, pre-launch configuration testing and to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

- This is a full-time hourly position requiring work during BrightSpark Early Learning Services Business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-5 pm, and requires a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum salary range for this position. Base salary will be used when considering compensation for a new employee.
Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal racial equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total compensation package.
