Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.
Background on the Position
The role will reside within the Market Risk Capital team, which is responsible for producing Market RWA and Capital results for the Firm Risk Management Department (FRM). This is a key input used for regulatory reporting and internal business management. We are seeking a high-quality Project Manager, who will partner with groups across the Risk department as well as business units, Finance and Capital on project management, regulatory initiatives, capabilities development and business-as-usual activities.
Primary Responsibilities
> Project management of risk capital initiatives within FRM, including FRTB implementation project management, production timeline management, work stream tracking, regulatory initiatives, control and governance, policy and procedures, and issue and action plan management
> Apply analytical skills to seek efficiency improvements across market risk capital team production process, including data quality, controls, tool automation, effectiveness assessments, resource allocation, and other capital reporting enhancements
> Partner with stakeholders within and outside FRM, including Market Risk, Risk Analytics, Model Risk Management, Firm Capital, Finance and business units
> Administer the governance framework and processes around market risk capital production, including due diligence, review and challenge, attestations and governance committees
> Provide ad hoc support, including coordinating presentations to management and regulators, internal audit and process validation reviews, and regulatory exams
Experience
> Experience in project or process management at a financial institution
> Detail-oriented, motivated and able to handle complex processes
> Good listener, strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
> Ability to engage partners at different levels
> Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills
> Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
> Knowledge of Basel capital framework and Risk Management is preferred
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
