Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking a Traffic EIT to support our fast-growing Transportation Planning Section. They will be expected to perform transportation planning and related tasks in support of traffic simulation and capacity analyses, development or assistance in the development of traffic forecasts from regional travel demand models, evaluate multimodal transportation systems, and provide detailed and summary results in graphics, reports, and presentations.
They must also have a strong interest in the planning and design of complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and design. Excellent communication skills are highly desired for public and client presentations and document preparation.

Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects.
Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments.
Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
EIT or ability to obtain. Candidates hired without EIT will be called a Traffic Coordinator
Strong verbal and written skills
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

MS in Engineering or related field
Preference given to local candidates
