The Sales Planning and Policy (SP2) team within AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) Operations is looking for an innovative, customer-centric, and experienced Sr. Policy Manager. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing guidelines and implementing policies that will support our sales planning processes. This high-visibility role will have a broad global reach across the organization, collaborating with stakeholders in various business units. This is a ground up opportunity to help shape the business and operating model of a rapidly growing organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to dive deep into areas of policy that need addressing.
- Investigate disconnects, solicit feedback, gather documents, and gain alignment on proposals.
- Engage with Segmentation Operations and Business Operations to extract information from internal systems, providing quantitative data about current or projected impact of a component of Policy.
- Conduct desk research to confirm findings or to introduce a proposal for further internal research.
- Lead policy reviews, lending a customer-obsessed and data-driven view to the conversation.
- Document new or amended policy for inclusion in our system of record.
- Support product partners in the codification of policy into software and other tooling.
- Support the SP2 team and other cross-functional partners in answering questions, making judgment calls, and resolving disputes about applying policy.
- Own policy development initiatives.
- Take on ad hoc related projects as necessary.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
- 5+ years of sales operations or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in successfully driving complex projects and programs.
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
