Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant experience Supervisor to hold the Patrol Officer Watch Commander position (Supervisor) to join our Patrol Services Department, in a Condominium Community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining safety and security within assigned areas, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with Condominium rules and regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to surveillance and conflict management, as well as the ability to work effectively in various environments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a staff of 7 Officers, assign work station daily,
- Assist in conducting regular patrols of designated areas (gate access and property perimeters)
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, to identify suspicious behavior.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency calls, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Engage with the community to foster positive relationships and provide assistance when needed.
- Document incidents accurately in reports, including details of any conflicts or disturbances.
- Provide first aid and CPR as necessary during emergencies.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required for investigations or incidents.
Experience
- Certification in law enforcement or a related field is preferred.

- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques is essential for emergency response.
- Familiarity with security systems, including CCTV operation, is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Good knowledge of the Condominium Association’s bylaws, rules, and regulations (See Duties, below, for specific requirements).
- Excellent familiarity with all indoor and outdoor areas of the Watergate at Landmark property (observation decks, storage rooms, party rooms, gazebos, elevators, garages, basements, etc.), and hours of operation if applicable.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives.
- Consistently high level of professionalism exhibited at all times, with the ability to make objective and responsible decisions in normal and emergencies.
- Good interpersonal, mediation, and communication skills – both oral (by phone, radio, and in person) and written – at all levels (co-workers, residents, guests), with good command of English language and terminology, as required by department protocol.
- Ability to use a personal computer, with demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and a working knowledge of other software necessary to perform the duties of Corporal.
- Ability to safely operate Patrol Service vehicles (PSVs). Must have a valid driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior supervisor experience of five to seven years.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior Patroling experience a plus (law enforcement, security guard)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must submit to background screening and drug testing.
- Operation of Patrol Services or other vehicles contingent on possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age. This requirement may be waived by the General Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Supervision:
- Ensure the Watch (shift) has sufficient coverage, and that the Watch schedule is coordinated with the Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, and Sergeant of Patrol Services.
- Provide staff performance review input to shift Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Chief.
- Counsel and recommend disciplinary action for Watch staff violations pertaining to the Employee Handbook.
- As Acting Watch (shift) Commander, responsible for all equipment, radios and keys issued to Patrol Officers, as well as ensuring proper clock-in/clock-out procedures are followed and call-offs and other leave is properly reported.
- Responsible for the neat, professional appearance of all Patrol Services Officers assigned to the Watch (shift).
Enforcement of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations:
- Operation of Front and Back Gates, including all duties associated with gate operations.
- Knowledge to enforce directly or indirectly:
- Move Rules
- Parking Rules
- Party Room Rules
- Loading dock Rules
- Game Room Rules
- Gazebo Rules
- Indoor/Outdoor Swimming Pool Rules and hours of operation
- Pet Rules
- Tennis and Racquet Court Rules and hours of operation
- Issue traffic violation notices.
- Issue trespass notices.
- Immobilize/boot vehicles.
- Conduct lockouts and respond to storage bin lock cut requests.
- Conduct and/or oversee storage room inspections.
- Conduct and/or oversee perimeter fence inspections.
- Conduct daily outdoor light inspections.
- Conduct and/or oversee post-event inspections of Party Rooms.
- Follow and/or instruct other officers to follow bicycle registration procedures performed at the back gate.
- Follow and/or instruct other officers to follow proper Emergency Key procedures.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Follow proper fire emergency and bomb threat procedures, and, under guidance from superiors, instruct Patrol Officers as to their responsibilities at the Front Gate, Back Gate, and in the buildings during emergencies.
- Follow and/or instruct other officers to follow proper elevator rescue procedures.
- Immediately respond and/or instruct other officers to respond to water leak complaints.
- Follow proper power outage procedures (including manual operation of gate arms).
Department Administration:
- Complete and/or review reports, including incident reports and accident reports.
- As Acting Watch (shift) Commander, review the Daily Log to ensure it is complete and accurate, and maintained per guidelines set by the Chief of Patrol Services.
- The Watch Commander will be responsible for reviewing Time and Attendance on the ADP system. This will include providing notes on OT or WC acting duties and reviewing for accuracy before payroll processing. Address any concerns with the Manager or Human Resources
Equipment Maintenance:
- Report to the Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and/or Chief of Patrol Services any department equipment in need of repair, including vehicles, radios, cell phones, cameras, and audio/video/electronic equipment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
